Sports development training and equipment grants
Objectives
Examine available sports and recreational facilities in Dunfermline and West Fife against current and anticipated needs;
- to promote or support competitions, events, and other sporting activities
- to assist in the formation of new sports clubs and recreational organisations
- to encourage, with the assistance of the education authorities, school pupils and school leavers to continue in sports and recreational activities
- to disburse grants to affiliated sporting organisations or club
Membership
All amateur sports clubs that have a Constitution and a democratically elected Committee, are invited to affiliate to the Sports Council, thereby providing a wide representation of all sporting interests.
Affiliation affords member clubs representation (two) at all Annual and Special General Meetings and the other benefits of membership. There is a nominal annual affiliation fee.
Finance and Grants
The Executive Committee of Dunfermline and West Fife Sports Council distribute grants on behalf of Fife Council.
The grants policy is geared towards providing support to local sports clubs/organisations and in certain circumstances, coaches and officials.
